From my early days on the internet, I’ve noticed that most blogs aren’t “optimized” for the reality of today’s web. So I decided to write an article that will help you identify yourself 4 quick things that will optimize your blog so he knows what success he deserves…
I have to advise you right from the start: Even if you know all the tips and tricks for optimizing your blog, but do not take any concrete measures to implement it, then do it yourself waste your time…
In order for your blog to be successful, You absolutely must focus your efforts on the elements deliver the results and stop waste your time on things that don’t give.
To help you implement the strategies presented in this article, I have provided the time required to implement each element.
All you have to do is take some time and implement one strategy per day. At the end of the 4 days, you’ll be better positioned to be successful with a blog.
It’s important that you understand that the 4 tips I list below are not cures for subpar content.
The first thing you need to do if you want to be successful with your blog is create quality content.
If your content is average (or mediocre), then it’s time to hand over the keys and play again World of Warcraft…
1- Make a list of “Leads” – 30 minutes
The first thing you need to do is install a form on your blog so you can create your own list of “leads” (potential customers). If you have a blog and haven’t installed such a form yet, you’re missing out.a very efficient way to convert a one-time visitor into a returning visitor.
With a list, you become less and less dependent on external traffic sources because you can more easily retain your subscribed readers.
With an average click-through rate of 20%, for a list of 1,000 readers, about 200 readers would have clicked on the link that took them to the article. Not bad… Not bad at all.
You may also be able to promote products or services as an affiliate to people on your list in the not too distant future. This is an extremely effective way to monetize your blog.
It should be noted that I suggest that you have a fairly large list and have established a relationship of trust with your readers before you start promoting any products.
Here are the steps required to start creating your own list:
- Open an autoresponder account (for example: free Mailchimp up to 2000 contacts);
- Create your form on your autoresponder account;
- Include the form in your website header as well as in the “sidebar”.
- Offer a free gift in return for listing to increase conversion rate.
2- Create partnerships with other bloggers in your market – 30 minutes
Regardless of your market and niche, chances are other people have blogs that cover the same topics as you. You absolutely must create as many links with them as possible.
Many bloggers perceive other bloggers as competitors in their market. Big mistake… They should be considered partners.
Think about it! Partnering with another blogger is an opportunity to work together towards a common goal.
Take this article for example. I am very happy to be able to write it and share it with the readers of Webmarketing & Co’m’s website. It’s a chance for me to introduce myself to an audience that knows little or nothing about me.
The bet I accept is quite simple. If you find the content interesting, visit my blog (and subscribe to my list). In addition to inbound links to my blog for search engine ranking purposes.
For its part, the Webmarketing & Co’m site receives quality content to use as it pleases on its blog, satisfying its readers so that they come back and subscribe to their list.
Partnerships can even evolve over time and lead to cross-promotion campaigns (joint ventures) consisting of promoting our products on the partner’s reader list. A great way for beginners who don’t have the budget to promote or buy sponsored posts.
The strategy is simple: list all the bloggers active in your niche. It is very important that your list includes not only star bloggers but also beginner bloggers who have a growing audience.
The list is only the first step. Once it’s done, you’ll need to make connections with them. I suggest you email the blogger you want to connect with to be yourself and be honest.
To increase your chances, you can take the first step by backlinking to your future partner’s website, tweeting one of their articles, or commenting on one of their posts. This way, your future partner will notice you before you make your proposal.
3- Add Social Proof to Your Blog – 20 minutes
If you’ve ever done marketing, you know (or should know) that testimonials are a tool very powerful when it’s time to promote a product or service.
The same is true when it comes to promoting your blog. Human psychology is like this…
Most people are much more likely to do something when other people have the same thing demographic and psychographic characteristics already do.
So when your readers see that you have 10,000 Instagram followers or 2,000 people following you on Twitter, they are more likely to subscribe to you or follow you themselves.
One thing to note is that you must post unusual numbers. If you only have 12 followers then don’t post it as it might hurt your cause (social proof works both ways).
Another platform underused by small businesses but which can have a significant impact: Trustpilot. It allows your customers to leave their testimonial with a note from your blog or website.
Here’s what you need to do to add social proof to your blog:
- Decide what form you want your social proof to take (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.). It is important to avoid numbers under 1000;
- Add the counter in the sidebar or at the end of the articles;
- Sign up for Trustpilot and ask your customers to leave a positive testimonial for a gift.
- Publish the best testimonials on your blog.
4- Ask your readers to take an action – 2 minutes
You would like to have more comments at the bottom of your articles, more subscribers to your list, more people following you on Facebook or YouTube… So, Ask it in a simple and clear call to action !
The easiest way to ensure your readers take action after reading the article is to ask. Check it out when your next article comes out.
Don’t overdo it though…don’t ask for a to-do list or the results will be poor. People generally react badly to a to-do list (especially when that list comes from your wife).
For this reason, this article is not titled, “The 42 Actions You Need to Take to Make Your Blog Successful.”
This goes around 4 shares You must ask today to better position your blog.
