Last night the presentation cocktail of the candidates for Miss Guyana 2022 was held at Guyane Automobile, in the Terca area.
We present the 9 title contenders individually.
Candidate n ° 1- Orhana PIERRE- 20 years- 1m74- Miss Macouria-
“In the first year of preparation for the profession of beautician, I work and flourish in the world of aesthetics and fashion.
Passionate about modeling, I have been involved in Fashion Week for almost 5 years and I also practice competitive handball in the Macouria Ara club.
Energetic by nature, I am determined to pursue my projects and to invest myself in all the causes I advocate.
My philosophy of life is to bring my help to my neighbor so that we all evolve together.
The message I would like to convey through these elections is that, regardless of our differences, anything is possible, it is by believing that we move forward. Guyana has wonderful young women, so we dare to step out of the shadows and show the world the beauty of Guyana. “
Candidate n ° 2- Maëlle SAINT LOUIS AUGUSTIN- 18 years- 1m79- Rémire-Montjoly-
“Holder of a scientific baccalaureate degree with honors, I attended the first year of medicine (PASS) at the University of Guyana. This year I want to stay in the medical field by becoming a nurse for children.
I am very attached to helping each other and listening, which makes me a humanist and caring person.
In addition to my professional projects, I am passionate about cooking and artistic swimming. It is a way for me to share moments of conviviality, love and comfort. But also to express my creativity and my emotions.
Two out of three women are complicated by their physique. A sad reality fueled by social networks and “perfect” photos, reality shows, slimming advertisements …

Candidate n ° 3- Nadia CELESTIN- 18 years- 1m73- Matoury-
“I am currently in the final STSS and I want to do a study-work program to get my patent as a pharmacy preparer.
Later I would love to start a family, but above all I would like to broaden my horizons by traveling, discovering new cultures.
In my free time I like to be on social networks or even practice a sport, such as athletics.
Being a kind, ambitious and determined person, loyalty is a very important value for me.
The cause I want to defend? Trisomy is the number one cause of developmental delay of genetic origin. Down syndrome is a disability that affects many people and I would like to make this difference better known.
My motto is: “Everything comes at the right time to those who know how to wait”.
Candidate n ° 4- Pierette ATOUKOU- 22 years- 1m71- Miss APATOU-
Originally from a western municipality, Apatou, I lived there for my entire childhood. I am very close to nature, to tranquility, due to my origins.
Endowed with benevolence, I am completing my university career with a view to becoming a school teacher to convey my added value to our future youth.
The cause I want to highlight is the support of young people, a continuous social support that from an early age would allow them to accept differences in order to reduce harassment while increasing personal development.
Living in the moment is my motto. “
Candidate n ° 5- Maylees SUMET- 19 years- 1m86- Rémire-Montjoly-
“The people around me call me ambitious, humble and selfless.
Passionate about the world of fashion from an early age, this field allows me to develop my interpersonal skills.
I am currently studying alternatively in the health sector and subsequently aspire to become a pharmacy technician.
Safeguarding the environment is a cause that is close to my heart. As a young man from Guyana, it is important for me to participate and raise awareness for its conservation.
The motto that guides me every day? “Be brilliant by being yourself.”
Candidate n ° 6- AMAYOTA feud- 18 years- 1m75- Saint Laurent-
“Currently in terminal générale, in SVT and mathematics specialties, I am fascinated by human anatomy and aspire to become a surgeon.
My qualities? Generous, kind, attentive and frank.
Loyalty and respect are values that I defend.
Guyanese from Maroni, I am very attached to my culture. Art and cuisine are very rich, as a young man I think it is important to know this culture and promote it. Hence my attachment to tradition which represents a wealth for our territory.
My mood? Take life as it comes as you try to outdo yourself a little more each day. “
Candidate n ° 7- Mélina CLET- 18 years- 1m81 -Matoury-
“Currently in the general terminal class, my goal is to undertake a BTS accounting management for work study to become an auditor.
I have been playing basketball since the age of 15, this discipline has developed my fighting spirit and my determination. It is a daily resource: surpassing myself to succeed in everything I do is a challenge for me.
A cause that is close to my heart? Adoption, because many children dream of a family they are not lucky enough to have.
My motto: “The difference between the possible and the impossible lies in the determination that lies dormant in you”.
Candidate n ° 8- Shaina ROBIN- 20 years- 1m73- Kourou-
“In the second year of the preparatory course for the Grandes Ecoles Scientifiques (CPGE), I aspire to become an airline pilot to help open up my territory.
Epicurean, dynamic and optimistic: for me the sky remains the most beautiful place on Earth! Passionate about aviation, I am currently a pilot student.
As sport contributes to my physical and mental balance, I am licensed from the Montjoly table tennis club. I also did track and field.
I uphold values such as loyalty, fairness and justice because they are essential for social cohesion.
The cause that is close to my heart is access to studies for young people from remote communities. The latter, in fact, see their dreams and their future hampered by the distance and the lack of housing. Having experienced this, I hope to be a source of motivation for the young people of Guyana.

Candidate n ° 9- Océane SMERALDA- 22 years- 1m70- Cayenne-
“Skilled in communication and marketing, I study alternatively in digital marketing.
Since photography is my first love, I like to take pictures, but also to go to the other side of the camera. I also like to write, and I am an editor for a web media in my spare time.
Warm, determined and in love with life, I am committed to ensuring the well-being of those around me. Health, especially mental health, is a cause that deserves our full attention.
My motto is Love! Self-love, love for others and love for the little joys of everyday life. “
One of them will take the place of Mélysa Stéphenson, elected Miss Guyana 2021 and who qualified in the top 15 of the elections of Miss France 2022 on 11 December 2021.
